First contract announced for Shearwater SystemsShearwater Systems, the developer of mobile clinical applications and health records established earlier this year, has announced its first contract.
The company has been commissioned by Graphnet Health, to adapt its first products so they can be used with Graphnet’s own CareCentric electronic health record software.
Shearwater Systems’ first products are the Rapport Clinical Portal, which gives clinicians and health professionals immediate on-the-spot access to a patient’s individual health record, and the Rapport Patient Portal, which allows patients to view and manage their own records. Patient access to records is a key part of the government’s information strategy for the NHS. Under the terms of the agreement, specific Carecentric versions of both of these portals will be sold by Graphnet under the CareCentric brand.
These new products will be shown for the first time at an exhibition at Birmingham’s NEC on 5th-6th November (the EHI Live Show) and will be deployed in March 2014.
Shearwater Healthcare Investments already has a relationship with Graphnet Health. Its founders made a major investment in the company earlier this year and its staff provide operational support across all areas of Graphnet’s business including corporate development, product design and development, and sales and marketing.
Shearwater Healthcare Investments’ co-founder Ian Denley said: “One of Shearwater Healthcare Investment’s aims is for partner companies to support one another in sales and development. In this case, Rapport brings additional power and accessibility to CareCentric products and Graphnet gives Shearwater Systems an instant market for Rapport Clinical and Patient Portals. This is an excellent arrangement for all parties.”
